PRIVACY POLICY

Star Learning practice is GDPR compliant.

I retain a certain amount of information about my students for the purpose of specialist teaching and assessment.

 

The information I hold about my students may include:

 

  • Name and date of birth

  • Name of parents/carers

  • Postal address and email address

  • Telephone numbers

  • School/educational address/contact details

  • Referral source

  • Initial case history

  • Professional reports

  • Assessment reports

  • Progress notes

  • Action plans

  • Workbooks

 

I record details of educational, medical and developmental history as appropriate for assessment and teaching. The information I collect and retain is for this specific and legitimate purpose only. It is limited and relevant to teaching/assessment.

 

The information is confidential. I will not share this information with a third party without explicit consent unless needed for child protection purposes.

 

Information will be kept for no longer than is necessary and is disposed of securely in line with ICO regulations.

 

I will never sell your details to a third party.

 

I do not employ agents to process personal data.

 

Information held on devices including laptops, I-pads and mobile phones is securely held and is password protected.

 

Hard copies of information are kept securely in a locked cabinet within a locked/alarmed building.

 

I am registered with the Information Commissioner’s Office (ICO). Registration reference: ZA142568. In the event of a breach of data security I will notify clients and the ICO immediately when I become aware of this.

You have a right to withdraw your consent to the retention of your data. You must give this in writing. You also have the right to request a hard copy of information I hold about your child as well as the right to request your record be amended if you believe that it is wrong. I will provide access to your child’s records within 30 days of receipt of all necessary information.
